Ruby Raid is one of those games that hooks you almost immediately. It’s a fast-paced arcade shooter from Ozgames.io, and honestly, it feels less like you’re “playing” and more like you’re constantly trying to survive. You take on the role of a bold treasure hunter who steals a sacred ruby—only to accidentally awaken the terrifying Eye of the Gods.
And from that moment on, there’s no turning back.
A deadly laser starts chasing you, and it never lets up. No breaks, no mercy—just pure pressure.
As soon as a run begins, your character is already sprinting forward. There’s no easing into it—you’re forced to react on instinct right away.
You jump (← key) to dodge obstacles like blocks and barriers, and shoot (→ key) to take down enemies before they get in your way. But what really keeps your heart racing is the fact that you can’t slow down. The second you hesitate, the laser is right there behind you.
It creates this constant tension where you’re juggling speed, timing, and survival all at once. I found myself leaning forward without even realizing it, completely locked in.
The pressure in this game is real:
It’s the kind of game where you tell yourself “just one more run”… and then suddenly an hour has passed.
What kept me coming back was the progression system. You can unlock more than 25 different weapons as you gather rubies. Each one changes how you approach the game, and upgrading your firepower becomes crucial as the difficulty ramps up.
And trust me—it does ramp up. Later runs get noticeably tougher, to the point where upgrades don’t feel optional anymore. They’re necessary if you want to last more than a few seconds.
What I really like about Ruby Raid is how smoothly it blends different elements. It has the endless runner feel, but mixes in shooting mechanics and high-pressure survival in a way that just works.
The controls are simple, which makes it easy to pick up, but actually mastering the game? That’s a whole different story. And that challenge is exactly what makes it so addictive.
